Last month’s Dinner Tasting at Oak Haven Table & Bar in New Haven…soooo delish!!

Last month, on January 10th, we headed over to
Oak Haven Table & Bar in New Haven for an amazing dinner tasting on a fully booked Saturday night!  We hung out with our rad server Mags, as she took us on a tour through the menu.

We started out with Bourbon Pickle Back Shots complete with their very own house made pickle juice.  What a way to kick things off!

After pouring over the creative, hand crafted cocktail menu we decided to turn ourselves over to the expert. Mags recommended we try the El Rey (pineapple infused espolon reposado tequila, ancho reyes chili liqueur, lime juice, agave nectar) and the Harvest Moon (high west double rye, cherry heering liqueur, all spice dram, lemon juice, bittermen’s tiki bitters) for our cocktails, so we did just that.

Head Chef Meg Fama greeted us at the table and talked about Farmer’s Markets she shops at each day, particularly the Wooster Square Farmer’s Market. Then lots and lots of food started coming out from the kitchen.  The variety of dishes and the character in each flavor profile was only surpassed by the generosity and hospitality at Oak Haven Table . She visited our table 3 times during dinner to discuss the food and see how we were doing.

(white wine, butter, herbs, market veggies with a melange of leeks, carrots, swiss chard, green beans, topped with lemon celery cream sauce)

  Bourbon Bread Pudding (creme anglais, fresh whipped cream)

(bourbon glazed kimchi, spiced molasses, bourbon sauce)

  Pot De Creme (vanilla reduction, fresh whipped cream)

The lighting was warm and the company was inviting.  Check out our photo shoot we did with Mags and some of the regulars that night.
